This drives the stock firmware.
The stock app can pick colours — that's about it. Zima firmware adds 47 flow effects, colours that survive power cycles, its own dashboard and one-click updates. One USB flash, about five minutes, and it's reversible.
Lighting
Streamlined lighting control while you stay on stock firmware — colours, presets and patterns without stock's complicated routes. It's not perfect: stock still forgets everything on a power cycle, and there are no animations. Running Bay Programmer? The dashboard at zimacube.local or 172.16.1.1 is better — it needs none of this.
Chrome permissions — the 20-second primer
This page is HTTPS and your ZimaCube is a local device — Chrome 133+ treats that jump as a Local Network permission. There are exactly two things to know:
- The first click: the first time you send a colour or press Check connection, Chrome pops a “allow this site to access your local network?” style prompt. Click Allow. That's the whole job.
- If you clicked Deny (or colours silently fail while the pill up top says Not connected): click the tune / lock icon at the left of the address bar → Site settings → set Local network to Allow → reload this page. Chrome also drops a small “blocked” icon into the address bar right after a denial — clicking that and pressing Allow works too.
Still stuck after allowing? Close every tab of this site, reopen, and click Check connection — the pill should flip to Connected.

}The colour picker streamlines stock firmware, but stock keeps the LEDs at whatever was last sent — reload the page and resend after a power cycle. Bay Programmer gives you perfect control, persistent memory and animations: flash it in one click.
